Whilst government Covid restrictions meant the cancellation of Crucial Crew 2021 at Nesscliff, we are pleased to advise that workbooks were issued to 1455 year six students at 46 Shropshire Primary Schools in May.
Shrewsbury & Oswestry Crucial Crew and its partner agencies worked tirelessly throughout
the winter to produce new safety workbooks, each containing 18 up to date safety scenarios.
These included: fire safety, electrical and home safety, road safety, rail safety, building site safety,
water safety, farm safety, dog awareness, smoking and alcohol awareness, healthy eating, bullying,
internet safety, anti social behaviour, emergency planning, recycling and the environment, rights
and responsibilities, first aid and emergency responses.
A huge thank you to the staff at all the schools involved for helping to deliver this important safety
information to their students who leave them to move on up to senior education.
Thanks once again to our sponsors who made it possible for the books to be printed and supplied
to schools free of charge.
A huge thank you to the following who have provided funding for Crucial Crew Safety Workbooks for 2021.
The Wynn Foundation, Lintel Trust (Shropshire Homes), The Walker Trust, Morris Property, Elmer Arlyss Construction and the following Rotary groups: Shrewsbury Severn, Shrewsbury Darwin, Oswestry Borderland and Ellesmere.
This funding is not taken for granted and is greatly appreciated. Continuing support not only helps to fund the safety education of our children, but it re-energises the unpaid Management team and volunteers and for that we are truly grateful. As we move into our 28th year we acknowledge the valuable contribution of all our supporters. Sadly, this year we particularly remember the support and kindness of Mary Cadbury who passed away at Christmas.
Sadly, as you have read elsewhere, we had to cancel Shrewsbury & Oswestry Crucial Crew this year.
We were, however, able to implement our Covid contingency plan which saw 1500 safety workbooks issued to teachers and students at the 46 schools scheduled to attend.
Our next event will be in June 2022. In the meantime, stay safe and do please keep in touch using the ‘Contact us’ form if:
